My Favorite Insurance Broker/Agency, is currently focusing on helping Californians take advantage of the American Rescue Plan offered by Covered California.

The American Rescue Plan is a federal relief and stimulus package designed to help people recover from the COVID-19 economic crisis. It recently expanded its financial help to lower insurance premiums and increase the savings of eligible people.

This subsidy is only available for those who enroll through Covered California.

The Covered California Health Exchange is the government agency offering subsidized Obamacare plans for this state. The California Health Exchange was created to assist citizens and legal residents with applying for marketplace coverage in order to comply with the Affordable Care Act (“ACA”). When the law was passed in 2010, each of the 50 states had to decide to either create a state-run health insurance exchange or offer enrollment through a federally-operated exchange. This state chose to create their own exchange and called it “Covered California”.

Premium assistance, also called Advanced Premium Tax Credits (APTC), can lower the cost of health care for individuals and families who enroll in a Covered California health plan and meet certain income requirements.

The amount of premium assistance you receive is based on how much money you make, your tax household size and where you live.

Because the amount of premium assistance you receive is based on information that can change during the year, it’s important to keep Covered California updated about these changes so that your premium assistance can be adjusted if needed.

What are the health plan options?

Covered California for Small Business offers four levels of coverage — Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum — each with multiple plan options. We make it easy for you to choose not one level, but two adjoining levels of coverage.
